Interlude |16"x20"
From The Intervals Collection by Payton James, inspired by transformative in-between moments and growth. Bold, linear elements juxtaposed with soft, atmospheric horizons.
This collection of paintings express the disconnected and fragmented sense of time during a liminal transition, presenting pieces that pay tribute to the past while simultaneously evoking a sense of the future. These works capture intervals of time within a single painting.
Interlude
16"x20"
It’s easy to describe ourselves but much harder to know who we are. How can we, with time blurring everything? Experiencing painful memories and lingering doubts until it all makes as little sense as a dream. This original oil painting has thick layers of fine oil paint, applied with a palette knife and paintbrushes to create peaks and valleys of textures.
